Sneak Peak

Our second costume came in today! This is Kayt's gymnastics costume. We don't quite have they physique for gymnastics, but I think this costume is MUCH better than her ballet/tap costume.

The pics are a little better. I made her stop doing dance moves. hehe

Pose #2.

I think she looks like she's up to something in this one!

My sweet angel! Hope you all had a great day!

Busy Bees

We have been busy "remodeling" our front yard. Our house has been stuck in builder mode since we moved in (yard-wise). We've had plans for it, but lacked the money. Something spurred Steve into action this Spring, and so I ran with it! He'd already started before I thought to take a "before" picture, so I'm stuck with merely the "now" and will soon take a "finished" pic!

No, this is not ALL we did. This is a pic for my mom so she can see the replacement gardenia bushes Steve got me for the ones that failed (um, I killed).

The major addition is the garden around the bench, which wraps all the way around the house.

We moved the birdbath so it would stand out more. It was in the bigger bed to the left.

This is how it wraps around. The brick wall is a bit overwhelming. We plan on adding a trellis or two with vines growing up until the azaleas take over.

Please disregard the tire marks Steve left. He brought in great soil (we had nothing but clay). Unfortunately, it had rained the day before so the grass was not as forgiving as it would normally have been. So, what do you think of the progress we have made so far?

Birthday Bliss

Here in the Davis household, we have had a rash of birthday parties as of late. None of ours, mind you. All of Kayt's friends at school are turning 4. Our weekends have been filling up! The latest one was at The Little Gym. Kaythlen had a blast! Steve got to go in and help her on some of the equipment. Not me. The second I walked in, she turned into a big baby who wouldn't leave my side. Steve got to have fun, and I had to stand behind the window and watch. What's up with that? I finally got to go in and snap a few pictures.

Kayt on the parallel bars. The sun was shining bright that day, so this isn't the best picture.

They had free time and some coordinated activities. This was the first time I walked in when Kaythlen decided I should be glued to her side. She isn't waving at me in this pic. She's whining.

She loved walking up the "wall" and flipping over (which required a lot of effort on Steve's part).

The balance beam took some convincing to get her to try. After one turn, she was hooked. Now Steve and I are trying to figure out what to do for her party (we have until August, so it's not crucial as of yet). Some of these things are great fun, but SO expensive. What have you done for your kid's party that was fun and financially sound?

Recital Time . . .

Please excuse the quality of the following pictures. My kiddo was too worried about dancing and not so much about smiling or looking at the camera! It's not really recital time, but Kaythlen got her costume in the other day and we just HAD to try it on! She hasn't been thrilled with dance this year, so we're making as BIG a deal out of it as we can to make it through the month of May. Anything that makes her look more like a princess helps!

I'm not sure what dance move this was, but she was proud of it!

This one is actually a real ballet move, so bonus!

I'm not sure, but I think this was the big finish! Needless to say, she's very happy with dance . . . . . . for now!

The best part of New Orleans!

The minute Steve and I decided to go to New Orleans over Spring Break, I started dreaming about this place! They have the best beignets I've ever had!

I just couldn't wait to get there!

Ok, so they don't necessarily look pretty, but I assure you, they are phenomenal!

Even Steve agrees with me! Have you ever been to Cafe Du Monde? What did you think?

Easter

We hope you had a Happy Easter! We had a wonderful time together, the three of us, and then a great afternoon with friends! I have many more pictures to come, but I thought I'd share a few.

This is Kaythlen before church. Go figure, all the curl fell out of her hair! She had a great time in the nursery and we were blessed with a wonderful message!

Kaythlen being silly!

More silly Kayt. Steve says she looks just like me here. I don't see it. I still think she's his twin!

Here is one of the flower arrangements I made for my friend's doors. She has double front doors, and the other one looks a lot like this one. She and her husband were nice enough to have us over for Easter dinner. Please excuse her husbands rear end in this picture. He thinks he's funny! Guess he's been hanging out with Kayt!

Hunting eggs!

This is one of my favorite action shots! Thanks to all the family and friends who made this Easter so special!
