Just another day

Today started out like just another day.  And then I went to drop Kennedy off at the babysitter's.  I noticed "guck" draining out of her ear.  We've had her tubes since she was 10 months old.  I should count myself lucky that this was her first ear infection since we got them.  (She just HAS to be like her big sister! hehe) I figured I could call the doctor and they'd call in some drops.  Ummm, nope.  So, I take off work and we get stuck in the waiting room for over an hour.  Not a HUGE deal, normally, but this doctor is usually super quick.  Like in and out in 20 minutes quick.  Ugh!

I must say, she did REALLY good.  Especially for not having had lunch and it being past nap time.  One would think she'd come home and take a nice, LONG nap.  Nope!  An hour and a half and she was good to go.

My little poser had to get in on the action the other day when I was taking two-year pics of her sister.  Have I mentioned what an awesome big sister she is!  I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't such a big help!

Here's my rotten one tonight.  She was full of funny faces.  I only caught a few, but the lips just make me laugh!

I just had to share this picture.  We had snow the day after Christmas, and it was her first time to play.  Notice she's not in the snow.  She was not a fan.  She did love when her Daddy threw snowballs at her, though!  Now that Steve, Kayt, and Kennedy are on antibiotics, I really hope they don't share with their Momma!!  Hope you're all staying healthy while all this mess is going around!

Sunset

This is what Kayt and I saw on the way home from her tumbling class on Friday.  This is completely unedited and doesn't come close to the beautiful sight it was in person.  The clouds literally looked like steps leading to heaven.

God is the most amazing artist.  And He knows when we need to see something like this.  My stress disappeared and all I could do was smile.

A Little Love

This was my project last week.  I'm loving the square shape as opposed to the traditional round.

And until I decided to decorate my house for Valentine's Day, I never realized that stores carry very little in the way of decorations, if any.  I was shocked.  I'm going to hit Hobby Lobby this weekend and see if I can't stock up!  Where do you shop for your Valentine's Day decorations?

A day of rest...Ha!

Yesterday was a holiday for the schools.  Kayt and I both got to stay home.  Kennedy begged to go to her babysitters...she was missing her friends.  I always feel bad when I take her there on days I have off.  Does anyone else feel like that?  The day started bright and early.  I think Kennedy knows when Momma has a day off from work.  She wakes up extra early those days.  Ugh!  But I got lots of snuggles and cuddles, so I'll let it slide.  I had tons of plans of what I could get done.  It didn't happen.  I did get to Hobby Lobby and got some new curtains and pillow covers.  I love it when they have them 50% off!  I picked up items for projects too.  Kayt and I ate lunch with Steve and then we baked cupcakes.

Aren't they cute?  They're supposed to be monkeys.  It's kinda hard to tell, but she was super proud of them!  We went to gymnastics, picked up Kennedy, ate dinner, and I was out of time.  I was going to make my valentine's wreath, but SOMEONE I know has decided to decrease her nap by 1.5 hours and push bedtime back by 2 these days.  Doesn't she know sleep is a good thing?

She had fun playing on her Nabi though.  We had to get her something because she kept taking her sister's "Pi Pad" from her.  I love it when she calls it that!  We do at least have a clean house, for now.  There's never enough time in a day for me to do all the things I think I can do.  Do you feel that way too?

Kennedy is 2 years old!

Okay, so she's really two years and two weeks old.  I'm counting it as good enough since she had the stomach virus on her actual birthday.  She subsequently shared that with everyone in the family, so I'm impressed that I'm getting this done at all!  Ha!

Sweet Kennedy, here's what you are up to at age 2:

* You love opening presents.  You had a blast at Christmas, and your birthday was the same.

* You are wearing size 2t clothes, size 6 shoes, and size 5 diapers.

*You weight 28lbs, but I'm not sure how long you are.  We go back to the doctor on Tuesday to get that stat.

* You are talking like crazy!  I don't understand it all, and your Daddy understands even less.  He always looks at me hoping I figured out what you said.  It's becoming a lot more clear, though, and you have A LOT to say!

* You cook in your kitchen all of the time.  I spend most of my evenings cleaning up food!  Your sister plays with you, and you think it's the most fabulous thing!

* You think your big sister hung the moon.  You want to do what she does and be where she is at all times.  She's extremely patient with you, and you can't get enough of her.

* You love cows!  Your birthday party was all about cows, but this past week you think Kitty Cats are the best.  You constantly "meow" at us.  You are not quiet about your meowing, either.  You have a very loud voice, and you're not afraid to use it.

* You still don't have all of your teeth.  Just when I think you might finally be getting the ones you should already have, it doesn't happen.  You're not going to lose your first tooth until you're in middle school if you keep this up!

* You love to have your hair fixed.  And you think you HAVE to have a bow every morning.  You keep them in for all of 10 minutes most of the time, but your morning is not complete without it.

* You love bath time.  I think it's your favorite part of the nightly routine.  And on the rare occasion that you don't get a bath, you are not a happy camper.

* Your favorite things in the world are babies.  Real ones, pretend ones...doesn't matter.  You want to hold them, love them, and change their diapers.

* You still love shoes.  I can see some fabulous shoe shopping excursions in our future.  You don't care if their mine, yours, or your sisters.  You put them on, take them off, and get another pair to start it all over again.

* You are loving Mickey Mouse and Princess Sofia on Disney Jr. right now.  And when your Daddy is watching something else, you go take his remote, say "thank you" and then "please", bring it to me, and ask for "your" tv.  It's too funny.

* Just this week you have started blowing me a kiss when I put you to bed and telling me, "Love you".  It melts my heart!

I'm so proud of the girl you are and the one I see you becoming every day.  You are full of energy, you try my patience constantly, you make me laugh incessantly, and I can't imagine our world without you!  Happy Birthday, little biscuit!
