Short and sweet

So, life happened again.  I'm happy to admit that I stink at blogging.  I love reading other people's blogs, and I'm amazed at how consistent they can be with it.  It's just not me.  But I'm thankful for those of you who stick around for my randomness!

Sunday was hectic.  We went to church, I came home and cleaned some more (because I refuse to have my babysitter come to a dirty house), and then we went to a meeting about our mission trip.  Of course, Kennedy was needing Mommy time, and with a face like this, how could I refuse?  So we took a break and read "Fia First" for a little while.  (That red on her cheek is dry skin....we put lotion on and it's all better now.)

I told you today was random....this is Kennedy on Valentine's Day.  The pictures to not do justice to the amount of chocolate that was on her face and hands.  She loved it. Now, if I can just convince her it tastes better if you don't let it melt all over the place first!

This was Valentine's Day as well.  My sweethearts were being sweet and reading books together.  Moments like these make all the crazy "I want to pull all of my hair out" moments worthwhile!

Saturday Morning Fun

I love, love, love lazy Saturday mornings.  My girls have been playing so sweetly together!  I even got to sit and drink an entire cup of coffee without having to get up.  Wow!

Here they are sharing a couch and a blanket....at the same time!

Kennedy is OBSESSED with shoes.  She decided to help Kayt put hers on this morning.  Looks like Cinderella.  Kayt was loving it!

I guess she had to stretch it out to make it fit????

I LOVE this outfit!  I'm addicted to MudPie!

Ken's face is the one she makes when you ask her to say "cheese".  Note to self: refrain from asking the child to say "cheese" in future pictures.

Emma was watching and wondering what on earth was going on.

My crazy child.  This is why I don't let her pick out her own clothes.  Ever.  She does okay with the clothes...it's the massive amount of accessories that kill it!  hehe

Sweetness!

Sorry for the overload on pics.  Hope you're having a great Saturday!  I guess maybe I need to go get dressed now.  Boo!

Valentine's Decor

I'm one of those weird people who tries to decorate for every holiday.  I'm obsessed with Fall as a whole, Christmas, and Easter.  Valentine's Day has never been one of my biggies, but now that I have little ones, I try to do something.  I realized a few weeks ago that I was seriously lacking in Valentine's decor.  My hubby came to the rescue!  He even let me go off budget (If you know him, you know this is HUGE) to get some new stuff.  And it was well worth it....Kennedy went nuts!  Hearts, Mommy, hearts!  hehe  This isn't all of it, but I thought I'd share some of what we got.

Our mantle is now a little more festive.

I love these wooden words.  So sweet!

Steve picked this heart out.  I wasn't 100% sold on it, but now it's one of my favorite things.

Did I mention that I love the wooden words?

The girls love having hearts on the table.  I'm hoping the weather will cooperate this weekend so I can finish the "new" kitchen table and chairs I've been working on.  Can't wait to share those!  They're not even finished yet and I love them!

Hooray for bright red!

We also got these vases that I can use all year round.  I've got to run back to Pier 1 and get the flowers I found to go in them.  I'll share as soon as I make it there!  That's on the list for this weekend too!

Just another day

Today started out like just another day.  And then I went to drop Kennedy off at the babysitter's.  I noticed "guck" draining out of her ear.  We've had her tubes since she was 10 months old.  I should count myself lucky that this was her first ear infection since we got them.  (She just HAS to be like her big sister! hehe) I figured I could call the doctor and they'd call in some drops.  Ummm, nope.  So, I take off work and we get stuck in the waiting room for over an hour.  Not a HUGE deal, normally, but this doctor is usually super quick.  Like in and out in 20 minutes quick.  Ugh!

I must say, she did REALLY good.  Especially for not having had lunch and it being past nap time.  One would think she'd come home and take a nice, LONG nap.  Nope!  An hour and a half and she was good to go.

My little poser had to get in on the action the other day when I was taking two-year pics of her sister.  Have I mentioned what an awesome big sister she is!  I don't know what I'd do if she wasn't such a big help!

Here's my rotten one tonight.  She was full of funny faces.  I only caught a few, but the lips just make me laugh!

I just had to share this picture.  We had snow the day after Christmas, and it was her first time to play.  Notice she's not in the snow.  She was not a fan.  She did love when her Daddy threw snowballs at her, though!  Now that Steve, Kayt, and Kennedy are on antibiotics, I really hope they don't share with their Momma!!  Hope you're all staying healthy while all this mess is going around!

Sunset

This is what Kayt and I saw on the way home from her tumbling class on Friday.  This is completely unedited and doesn't come close to the beautiful sight it was in person.  The clouds literally looked like steps leading to heaven.

God is the most amazing artist.  And He knows when we need to see something like this.  My stress disappeared and all I could do was smile.

A Little Love

This was my project last week.  I'm loving the square shape as opposed to the traditional round.

And until I decided to decorate my house for Valentine's Day, I never realized that stores carry very little in the way of decorations, if any.  I was shocked.  I'm going to hit Hobby Lobby this weekend and see if I can't stock up!  Where do you shop for your Valentine's Day decorations?

A day of rest...Ha!

Yesterday was a holiday for the schools.  Kayt and I both got to stay home.  Kennedy begged to go to her babysitters...she was missing her friends.  I always feel bad when I take her there on days I have off.  Does anyone else feel like that?  The day started bright and early.  I think Kennedy knows when Momma has a day off from work.  She wakes up extra early those days.  Ugh!  But I got lots of snuggles and cuddles, so I'll let it slide.  I had tons of plans of what I could get done.  It didn't happen.  I did get to Hobby Lobby and got some new curtains and pillow covers.  I love it when they have them 50% off!  I picked up items for projects too.  Kayt and I ate lunch with Steve and then we baked cupcakes.

Aren't they cute?  They're supposed to be monkeys.  It's kinda hard to tell, but she was super proud of them!  We went to gymnastics, picked up Kennedy, ate dinner, and I was out of time.  I was going to make my valentine's wreath, but SOMEONE I know has decided to decrease her nap by 1.5 hours and push bedtime back by 2 these days.  Doesn't she know sleep is a good thing?

She had fun playing on her Nabi though.  We had to get her something because she kept taking her sister's "Pi Pad" from her.  I love it when she calls it that!  We do at least have a clean house, for now.  There's never enough time in a day for me to do all the things I think I can do.  Do you feel that way too?

Kennedy is 2 years old!

Okay, so she's really two years and two weeks old.  I'm counting it as good enough since she had the stomach virus on her actual birthday.  She subsequently shared that with everyone in the family, so I'm impressed that I'm getting this done at all!  Ha!

Sweet Kennedy, here's what you are up to at age 2:

* You love opening presents.  You had a blast at Christmas, and your birthday was the same.

* You are wearing size 2t clothes, size 6 shoes, and size 5 diapers.

*You weight 28lbs, but I'm not sure how long you are.  We go back to the doctor on Tuesday to get that stat.

* You are talking like crazy!  I don't understand it all, and your Daddy understands even less.  He always looks at me hoping I figured out what you said.  It's becoming a lot more clear, though, and you have A LOT to say!

* You cook in your kitchen all of the time.  I spend most of my evenings cleaning up food!  Your sister plays with you, and you think it's the most fabulous thing!

* You think your big sister hung the moon.  You want to do what she does and be where she is at all times.  She's extremely patient with you, and you can't get enough of her.

* You love cows!  Your birthday party was all about cows, but this past week you think Kitty Cats are the best.  You constantly "meow" at us.  You are not quiet about your meowing, either.  You have a very loud voice, and you're not afraid to use it.

* You still don't have all of your teeth.  Just when I think you might finally be getting the ones you should already have, it doesn't happen.  You're not going to lose your first tooth until you're in middle school if you keep this up!

* You love to have your hair fixed.  And you think you HAVE to have a bow every morning.  You keep them in for all of 10 minutes most of the time, but your morning is not complete without it.

* You love bath time.  I think it's your favorite part of the nightly routine.  And on the rare occasion that you don't get a bath, you are not a happy camper.

* Your favorite things in the world are babies.  Real ones, pretend ones...doesn't matter.  You want to hold them, love them, and change their diapers.

* You still love shoes.  I can see some fabulous shoe shopping excursions in our future.  You don't care if their mine, yours, or your sisters.  You put them on, take them off, and get another pair to start it all over again.

* You are loving Mickey Mouse and Princess Sofia on Disney Jr. right now.  And when your Daddy is watching something else, you go take his remote, say "thank you" and then "please", bring it to me, and ask for "your" tv.  It's too funny.

* Just this week you have started blowing me a kiss when I put you to bed and telling me, "Love you".  It melts my heart!

I'm so proud of the girl you are and the one I see you becoming every day.  You are full of energy, you try my patience constantly, you make me laugh incessantly, and I can't imagine our world without you!  Happy Birthday, little biscuit!
