Tummy Time

We have been working on tummy time at our house. Kennedy does really well with it for about 10-15 minutes. Then she's had enough.

I tried to get some pictures yesterday before she got too upset.

She is building up those neck muscles! (And drooling a little bit too!)

I love this one!

My Little Valentines

Happy Valentine's Day! We don't usually make a big deal out of this holiday at our house. My husband made me feel really bad today when he came home at lunch with a balloons and flowers. He got some for Kaythlen too. I didn't get him anything. I asked, he said "nothing", and so I listened. That'll teach me, right? We definitely have to dress for the occasion around here though.

I can't tell if Kennedy is fixing to fuss or smile. I'll opt for smile. : )

Here's Kaythlen with the balloon and flowers she picked out for herself. Her Daddy went and picked her up from school so they could go to lunch together. How sweet! (And it was 100% his idea).

No, she's not laughing. This was definitely fussing, but I thought it was cute.

She was so proud of her gifts!

And I just couldn't resist this picture! Hope your Valentine's Day is full of love!

Cabin Fever

We got more snow yesterday. I don't remember ever having this much snow in the south. This is crazy! Unfortunately, it melted quickly this time so Kayt didn't get to make her Daddy build another snow fairy princess. I think by the time I got out the camera for Kennedy's 1-month pictures, Kayt was ready to entertain.

I had taken a few pictures when she struck this pose and said, "But you don't have one of me doing this yet". Ha!

My sweet girl! Please ignore the circles under her eyes. She didn't have a nap yesterday and it shows.

This was when she was trying to sneak into the pictures of Kennedy in her bouncy seat. Can you tell by the look on her face that she was up to something?

Kennedy is 1 month old!

Kennedy, today you are 1-month-old!

What have you been up to?

You are drinking 4 oz. of formula...you wanted nothing to do with nursing.

You have no problem burping...you get that from your Daddy.

You are sleeping for 4+ hours at a time. There are even nights when you make it 6 hours. Your big sister NEVER did that, so I'm learning to get used to (and love) it!

You like to be snuggled.

You do not like to be cold.

You have started smiling, and you have been making eye contact for weeks now.

You sleep best during the day in your boppy, but you are learning to spend time in the bouncy seat and on your floor mat. Today you had your first "tummy time". You lifted your head and moved it from side to side by yourself.

You are still in newborn diapers, but you are are between newborn and 0-3 month clothes.

Your feet are so tiny I can't keep socks on them.

You have a big sister, Mommy, and Daddy who love you very much!

You look very annoyed with me in this picture. I assume I will get lots of these looks in the future.

Happy 1-month little biscuit! (That's what your Daddy calls you...as well as chipmunk).

A little bit of random

Look what we got in the mail today! My bestie since high school and her mom have started a business called Turtle Feathers. I'm a huge fan...I'm biased, but they have the cutest stuff! So, with all the newest stuff I bought, these matching outfits for the girls were included! Too cute, right? I can't wait to take pics of them in these! Thank you Rae and Mrs. Bonnie!

Kayt was very excited to have a shirt with her name on it!

She was sporting her Tinkerbell shirt yesterday. I'm not big on character clothes, but she got it for Christmas and loves it.

This is pretty much all Miss Kennedy did yesterday, which probably explains why we didn't sleep so well last night.

And as for the random, this was the sunlight hitting my flower arrangement on my kitchen table yesterday. I thought it was pretty, so I took a picture. Yep, I'm an odd one!

Baby's First Bath

Kennedy's cord finally fell off on Saturday, so Sunday was her first bath. Thank goodness...Momma doesn't handle babies who can't be cleaned well. She was perfectly happy to be dirty though. She did NOT enjoy this!

Let me just say that it took a miracle to get a picture where she wasn't screaming. Steve was having to snap them constantly.

Kayt had to help too. Such a GREAT big sister!

And yes, I'm intentionally posting all of the pictures where she is happy. Out of all of them, there were only two.

The rest of them look like this! Ha! We're going to try again today. Maybe we'll enjoy it more? I'm not getting my hopes up. I do have to brag on her, though. She has been in her bouncy seat for over 30 minutes now. I've actually gotten laundry started, had breakfast, helped out the girl covering my maternity leave at work, and posted this. Progress!
