USB Happiness and an Art-Filled Sunday

I'm more excited about a stinkin' USB cord than I ever should be, but it came in yesterday. I can now upload pics directly from my camera to my computer instead of having to take them to an outside source. This will definitely speech up my blogging ability! Many thank you's to my sweet husband for replacing the one we lost in the move!

Today we had an art-filled afternoon! My best friend and her husband have been on a cruise all week (we wont mention what I think of them for leaving me here), and her parents kept her kids. Her parents live in Wisconsin (can you say "Brr") so they had to leave early this morning to head back. I picked her daughter (Kate) up from acting today and we had a fabulous (healthy) lunch and headed to pick out art projects. When we got home, we waited for my Kayt to wake up and the fun began!

Kaythlen wore one of my old t-shirts. She was so excited to paint her cat. Remember, she had JUST woken up. This is sleepy-excited! hehe

Don't we look creative?

Hmm, which one did the 3-year-old paint?

Kayt's crown jewelry box. She had a little Mommy help with this one.

Kate's finished picture frame. I can't believe I'd never painted with her before. What a bad babysitter I used to be! Hope you all had fun-filled weekends too! If only the weekend had a few more days!

Movie Memories!

Kaythlen's Marme and Poppy took her to her very first movie over the holidays. She went to see the Princess and the Frog. She loved it! I had to give my parents directions to the theater since they were visiting us. I told them to take the road behind our house into the next town and they should turn right at Starbucks. The theater is right behind it. Now, every time I go get coffee, she's convinced we need to go to the movies too! It doesn't even have to be the same Starbucks. In her mind, EVERY Starbucks has a movie theater.

She and her Marme outside the theater!

She thought Alvin and the Chipmunks were pretty cool too. So, of course, she asks to see them whenever I want coffee as well. Guess I need to take my kid to another movie!

A Little Silly!

Daddy made it through surgery just fine today. Although, if you ask him, "fine" might not be how he'd describe it! He's in a private room, out of recovery. They removed the lymph nodes and his prostate. They biopsied the area around his prostate and that came back negative. The lymph nodes have to be sent off, but we hope to hear back soon! Until then, he's not handling the drugs well. He woke up earlier asking mom where his "nose" was. I'm thinking morphine is not a good mix with him! hehe

We didn't make it down for the surgery, but we hope to go see him next weekend when he gets home and is better able to handle a Kay-t-bug climbing all over him! Thanks again for all of your prayers! We know God is listening!

Prayers for Daddy

My dad went for his pre-0p appointment today. Everything looks good from the reports I got from mom and dad. He HAD to call tonight to talk to Kayt. I think he's little nervous. His surgery starts at 7:15 tomorrow morning. Please keep him in your prayers!

We love you, Poppy!

Hula Hoop!

Kayt got a Christmas cd this year with Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was one of her favorite songs! She was convinced, after hearing it, that she just had to have one! Well, Santa just couldn't disappoint! And it was well worth it!

Look at this baby go!

And she just doesn't give up! Once she gets the hang of this, it'll be fabulous exercise.

Snow Days

So, this week, as I was recovering from an evil stomach bug I caught from a sweet kiddo I do therapy with in a CDC class, we got snow. Not just a few flakes, but A LOT of snow! Since I didn't feel so hot, I took pictures while Steve and Kayt played. They had so much fun!

Kaythlen made snow angels!

And then she made snow "prints". She was so happy she could make holes in the snow with her hands, so she called them "snowprints". Who am I to argue? I thought it was cute!

Her Daddy helped her make a snow princess. This was her absolute favorite! She even shared her magic wand, crown, and her princess skirt!

And, of course, she and her Daddy had to make a Razorback snowman. Our house wouldn't function without one! Although, I must say, I'm quite surprised her Daddy didn't make a Steelers snowman to go with it!

All in all, it was a fabulous day of playing and picture taking. And then I had to go sit back down! Darned bug!
