Update

Now that Kennedy is almost 7-months-old (this Sunday), I'm finally adding that she weighed 18 lbs, 11oz at her check-up and was 26 inches long. She's 75th percentile for height and head circum. and 95th percentile for weight. I do make big babies!

Kennedy is 6 months old!

I cannot believe my baby girl is half of a year old! It's going by so fast! I think I say that every month, but when you reach half of a year, it REALLY hits you! Here's what you are up to these days, Miss Kennedy:

*You sleep through the night in your crib (mostly). The last few days you have been waking up to find your paci, but otherwise you do great!

* You are eating rice cereal (you are not a fan of oatmeal), and you have made it through all the first foods fruits and veggies. Your favorites are peas (ick) and sweet potatoes. Yes, you like those more than the fruits.

*You have been sitting up for a while not, but you are getting much stronger. You still topple over when you get excited!

*You are rolling both ways, FINALLY! I thought you'd never roll from your tummy to your back.

*You are falling asleep on your own in your crib. Mommy is very proud of your for that! I still cheat and hold you sometimes when you sleep. It's too sweet, and I refuse to give it up completely.

*You are reaching for everything! You think my phone and the remote are supposed to be yours. You will dive across the couch to get them...no fear!

*You are wearing 6-9 mos clothes for the most part. Some of them 12 month clothes fit better if it is one piece.

*You are wearing size 3 diapers.

*You LOVE your bath in the big bathtub! You try to drink the water constantly!

*You think swimming in Auntie Alison's pool is fabulous! You don't like to be in the float, though. You want to be in the water the whole time. That doesn't mix well with your white, white skin!

We go to the doctor in a week for your 6 month check-up, so I will add height and weight then! We are loving each and every day with you! I'm trying not to think about having to go back to work...I want to stay home with you!

Kaythlen the Graduate

I'm playing catch-up with posts these days. Let's face it, I could play catch-up twice a day, every day, for the entire summer and still be behind. But, I digress! My oldest graduated from preschool on May 26th. I'm trying not to think about the fact that since she graduated from pre-k, the next step is kindergarten. I'm pretty sure that if I don't acknowledge it, it wont happen. That's how it works, right?

The program was quite cute. They each had their name called and got their diploma. The director even said her name right! I had a real fear that it wouldn't happen. Her name is Kaythlen (with a "th"), but everyone calls her Kay-t. No one ever gets her name right the first time. Since all the teachers know her as Kayt, I just knew her name was going to come out wrong at graduation. I was so happy when they got it right!

Marme and Poppy came up just for the ceremony. They headed out the next morning for my brother's birthday, but Kaythlen was thrilled to have them there.

Meme was here keeping Kennedy during my last week of work and stayed as well. Kaythlen loved having her there. She felt like the super-special girl she is!

I have more pictures of this milestone, but I figured I'd spare you excessive amounts of reading and split them up into multiple posts.

Momma and Daddy are so proud of you, Kay-t-bug!

Kennedy is 5 months old!

My dear, sweet Kennedy, you are 5 months and 1 day old. Yes, your Momma is a day late and a dollar short, but at least I got a post for this month. I totally missed your 4 month post. Don't worry, I did take pictures!

You are the sweetest baby! Unless, of course, you don't get put down for a nap as soon as you get tired. If I miss one eye rub, you're inclined to fight sleep. It's crazy. We still rock you to sleep. I can't seem to stop. I just love snuggling with you!

You are wearing size 2 diapers (for a little while longer).

You are wearing mostly 3-6 month clothes, but you're starting to move up to 6-9 months.

You are now a "soy" baby. Milk based formula and you do not make for a happy tummy.

You always look surprised in pictures. I think it's just a baby thing, but I'm getting better at taking pictures without your eyes wide open.

You have moved up to fruits and vegetables. If I had had my way, it would just be vegetables. We just got back from your Marme's house, and she cheated one night while I had to work and gave you apples. You love them, of course! So far, you like green beans and squash a lot too.

Your Daddy still calls you his "little biscuit". It's catching. I do it a lot too. So much so, that your Marme is convinced that you are going to think it is your name. You're too smart for that!

Your sister loves you so very much, and you love her too! You grin as soon as you hear her voice.

You have found your feet, and you think they are great fun!

You are rolling over from your back to your tummy, but you just get stuck there.

You can almost sit up without help.

You like Auntie Alison and Uncle Joedy's swimming pool, but you don't like the "cold" water when you first get in.

You have outgrown your baby bathtub. You're on a mat in the "big girl" tub now!

At your 4 month appointment, you weighed 14 lbs, 13 oz. No one is worried about you being too little anymore. You're storing food for the winter in your cheeks and your legs!

The favorite part of my day is when I come to get your from your crib in the morning. I say "hi" and get the biggest grin. It just warms my heart!

We love you so very much more each and every day!

3 weeks and 3 days

This picture pretty much says it all!

I have 3 weeks and 3 days left of work for this school year, and I am so unbelievably excited to spend the summer with my beautiful little girls! (And to get caught up on my blogging because frankly, I stink at it!)

St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day was just beautiful here! I couldn't resist getting my girls outside and taking some pictures!

Kayt refuses to just take a picture anymore. She has to pose for everything, but she's easily distracted (as you can tell by her inability to look at the camera here).

See!

Luckily, she was able to focus more when holding her little sister. I'm in LOVE with this picture. I had it printed in a 5x7 and it's already in a frame.

On another note, I'm going to attempt to get better about posting. How do you people do it? I'm lucky to get pictures taken between the everyday stuff and work, let alone get them up loaded and create a post. If I can get one or two posts a week, it'll be a miracle! :) I wish I could find the time to post more memories. One day, I'll wish I had! If you have any secrets, please fill me in!

Kennedy is 2 months old!

Happy 2 months Kennedy!

What are you up to?

* You are such a happy baby! You smile and "talk" to us! Today, at your check up, you even smiled and talked to the doctor.

* You weigh 10 lbs, 12 oz.

*You are 22 and 1/4 inches long.

*You are taking 4 oz. of formula every four hours, except you go 8 hours between bottles at night.

*You sleep really well, as long as Momma lets you snuggle with her. (You're not rotten at all...ha!)

*Your Meme has been taking good care of you since Momma had to go back to work. You like to fuss at her sometimes though.

*You enjoy your "tummy" time and are getting stronger by the day.

*You think your sister is the best thing ever...you watch her whenever she is in the room.

*You are wearing 0-3 month clothes, but you are getting too long for the one-piece outfits like the one in these pictures.

*You love to snuggle!

*Your eyes are not brown yet, so I still have some hope that they will stay light!

*Momma can't wait to get off work and come home to see you and your sister. I wish I could stay with my girls every day! I love you so much!
