Sweet Feet

I don't know what it is about baby feet, but I think they are the sweetest things! When I was taking pictures of Marme's outfit for her, I couldn't resist a few "foot" shots. Especially when they are accented with the bow on the gown!

So sweet, right?

Kennedy has long, narrow feet. Quite a switch from Kayt's chubby ones. I just hope she will be able to use some of the shoes her big sister was nice enough to pass down to her.

Okay, I know, enough with the feet already!

A Little Princess

My mom got this outfit for Kennedy. I LOVE it! Especially how it ties around her feet. So sweet! I promised Marme we'd take pictures for her the other day, so here are a few. She refused to cooperate while she was awake, so enjoy sleeping baby pictures.

For future reference, I used Kayt's bean bag. What a fabulous way to prop up/support a sleeping baby for pictures. Wish I'd had it when Kayt was little.

She actually slept through all of these pictures. This is shocking because for some reason, she will only sleep in the boppy during the day. Picky child!

Now, which one of these should I get printed?

A tisket, a tasket....

...a baby in a basket? My friend, Emo, is a photographer and she posted on her facebook page the other day the cutest picture of a baby in a basket. I tried to re-create it (because Em lives entirely too far away) and it's cute, but so not Emo quality. I think I might have to ask for photography and editing lessons for my birthday this year. But, naked baby pictures are always fabulous, so I love them anyway!

I'm just not sure which one I like the most. Any ideas?

I might add that my child thinks sleeping in a basket is for the birds. Quickest photo shoot ever. Ha!

Sweet Momma Time

I didn't realize it until yesterday, but Kennedy has been home for two weeks and we've had one day that was just the two of us. My parents were here for the first few days, then Steve's mom came for a little over a week, and then Steve was home to help me with doctor appointments. It was so quiet yesterday with Kayt at school and Steve at work. I'm being very good, for me, and not holding this angel all the time. Trust me, I'm extremely weak, so it's hard for me not to cuddle constantly! But, I did that with Kayt and we still have trouble keeping her out of our bed. No room for 4 in there!

Here she is in our bouncy seat. She likes it for about 10 minutes, but I managed to get dressed while she spent time in here.

Kayt was SO hot-natured that she hated blankets of any sort. She will, to this day, kick off all covers. I'm having to adjust because Kennedy is more like me. She needs the blankets and swaddlers constantly.

She was mesmerized by the lights and music.

And she'll lay in her boppy a lot. She refuses to sleep in her bed during the day, but does well with it at night (thank goodness). I'm also having to adjust to a baby who sleeps. I'm loving being able to learn all the differences between my baby girls!

Quality Sister Time

I just have to brag (before it ends) about how GREAT Kayt is handling being a big sister. She is SO helpful to her Momma and Daddy. The other day she was running through the house when Kennedy started crying. She stopped, ran back to her sister, stuck the paci in her mouth, and took off again. It was too cute. Speaking of too cute, I though she looked precious yesterday so I had to take a picture of her outfit.

I didn't get the full effect with the leggings and ugg-like boots, but it was all there. So sweet!

I had to post this picture, not because it's a good one, but because I can't get over the look on Kennedy's face. She is too into her sister.

This was the best one we got. Kayt had been asking to hold Kennedy for a few days, but she always managed to ask when she was fussy. I don't want Kennedy to scream while Kayt is holding her (mainly because Kayt covers her ears with her hands and forgets to hold her sister). We finally had a non-fussy night, and Kayt was so excited! She's such a great big sister!

I love Daddy!

Today was my post-delivery check-up. Well, I thought it was seeing as my discharge papers said to have an appointment in 2 weeks. I thought that was weird since I remembered the doctor saying 6 weeks, but I did as told. It all worked out. Got some bloodwork done and I'm waiting on those results. This little cutie got to stay home with her Daddy today.

She was a little fussy, so I think Daddy spent most of the day holding her. I don't think he minded much though. She's totally got him wrapped just like her big sister does.

He especially likes it when she wears shirts like this. Have you ever noticed that most of the boy stuff says "I love Mommy" and most of the girl stuff says "I love Daddy". Every once in a while, a momma wants some love from her girls too. :)

And yes, if you look really hard (this pic isn't very good) you can see that currently her eyes are blue. I'm enjoying it while it lasts because every Davis grandchild has brown hair and brown eyes, so I know what's coming. I'll take my blue eyed girl, even if it only lasts a few months.

2-week Check-up

Today was Kennedy's two-week check-up. Of course, it would just HAVE to snow the day before, melt enough before dark, and ice over before her appointment. I called this morning and they could only move her appointment back 30 minutes...the afternoon was full. My sweet, sweet husband stayed home from work and drove us there. I'm not the greatest driver in the world when there is ice on the road (or any other time if we're being totally honest).

Here's my girl in her car seat for the first time since she came home from the hospital. Meme was here and was nice enough to stay home with Kayt so we wouldn't have to get both girls out on the ice. Kayt was a little upset that she didn't get to go, but she recovered quickly.

Kennedy loved the car ride. Well, only as long as the car was on and moving. She's not a big fan of just the car seat. She HATES to be cold, so she was bundled under many, many blankets and she was sporting a hat made by turtle feathers.

We caught on to the hatred of the car seat when she threw a huge fit at the doctor's office. Steve had to take her out and hold her to calm her down. She fell asleep right before they made us strip and weigh her. Isn't that about right? Of course, she fell asleep again waiting for the doctor. She is still 3 oz. below her birth weight, and she has grown 1/2 of an inch. The doctor said they like for babies to be back at their birth weight by now, but since she is eating well and going 3 to 3.5 hours between feedings, she's obviously not hungry for more. Now, if he could just tell me why she HATES to be changed (clothes and diapers). How am I supposed to dress her up cute like her sister when she screams at me all the time???
